| Education: Graduated from Van Nuys High School, Van Nuys, California, 1967. Entered Northrop Institute of Technology (now University) Mechanical
Engineering 1967 Attended Oregon State (Now University) in 1994 taking Computer Science programming courses, while working for Cutler and Company as a System Analyst, Programmer along with serving as Vice-President and shareholder. All together, I completed 60 college credit units, but never received any formal credentials or paperwork, except the receipts for tuition payments. (Thanks, mom and dad for struggling and making that possible). Hey, for all of you who gave it the old college try and never "made the grade", I will have you know that many of my heroes never "graduated" either, including John Muir, Bill Gates, and Jesus - to name a few - so that's Okay. Keep your chin up and keep on learning - then teach. My dad always said that "you go to school to learn how to learn". Right he was. Finally, I learned and graduated from the school of hard knocks! H.G. Wells declared that "Civilization becomes ever more a race between education and catastrophe". Along with my wife Joanne, I am conducting research, developing, programming and integrating multiple forms of educational media (audio, video, graphics, 3d models and databases) into multiple interactive formats (CD-ROM, DVD, and the Internet). The function of these products is to help educate and train people with these new technologies. Our current focus is working with physicians developing integrated multimedia products that train health care professionals in anatomy, technology and applied procedures. A major part of the value of this family history is the application of this information to the education and health care of our children, who will benefit from records that have been passed along to them through this family network. Many people do not see that yet, but soon will. For example, the imagery from photographs will be used in analysis and reconstruction of those who have been injured. One does not have to be smiling in such images to achieve the applied value - so hang on to all of your photos, each were taken for a special reason by the photographer. All other aspects of our heredity will somehow benefit the health and
happiness of our descendants augmented by the information pool provided
by these family history documents, human intellect, and the use of technology
in tying this information together. I encourage and invite you to participate
and contribute to this family network in the future by contributing information
in future versions. |

Activities: Based on the printed versions of over half-century of Dad's research and development of the Cutler Family History books, I founded and have been maintaining the CutlerFamilyHistory.Com website since 2000. It has now been 30 years since the publication of the 1976 book. This 2006 edition is an electronic book containing over 3,000 files. Carrying this banner has been an honor and a challenge. It requires time, energy, money, technical knowledge, and collaborating with people who do not speak English very well about Internet technologies. Last but not least, this project requires trying to entice family members to contribute to and understand the value of preserving our common genetic history and heritage. I share Dad's sorrow for the pages in this record that contain nothing more than a name. Joanne and I have been generous contributors of our time and talents to non-profit organizations over the years. We are developing The Cutler Farm fixing up the house we built by ourselves in 1980. Joanne has been working on various projects around the state of Alaska for a couple of years. I... |
